Heart Swell

Have you ever had one of those moments that fills your heart so full with emotion that you almost feel it might burst? And sometimes, it actually does burst, and the tears spill over. It seems to be happening to me a lot lately as I watch this little one interact with her world.

I try really hard to save my computer time for after Liza is in bed. If you know me well, you know I have this thing for blogs..the photographs, the life stories, music chosen with intention, the documenting of ordinary JOYs, and the sense-making of our worlds. Yesterday, we'd just finished skyping with Gramommy, so the computer was in the playroom. We had a few minutes before dinner. Liza was off playing by herself across the room. I just intended to peak at a favorite, but got lost in somebody else's story. When I looked up, there she was, standing next to me, looking intently at the pictures on the screen and swaying to the music.

Those are also the times when words generally escape us. Seem to have escaped your readers, at least.

Enjoy it while you can because when adolescence comes you will be longing for these days. I know I am ;o/
And yes, anyone who has had the honor and pleasure (mostly) of having children knows exactly of what you speak.
And KVC/B, us old(er) folks just need a little more time =]

This post gives my heart pause as I too long for those days. But take heart, you will not forget many, many moments of her life. When she's older and you are alone and begin to remember, your heart will swell again, the tears will roll again - at least they do for me!!
